In short
- Does charging count?
- Home and business chargers; the operator registers itself
- Do measured kWh from a home charger count?
- Yes
- Since when?
- Since 1 September 2026
The scheme
- Name
- Kredity v doprave
- In English
- Transport credits
- Who earns
- The operator of the charging station (prevádzkovateľ nabíjacej stanice), a company or a natural person, households included, for public and non-public stations alike. Applications for 2026 run until 31 March 2027.
- Who may bundle
- Nobody: the ministry rejected an aggregator role in the legislative process. OKTE can transfer credits automatically to a fixed recipient that holds an account itself.
- What has to be measured
- Green kWh only: own renewable generation at the same connection, or grid electricity with a guarantee of origin. Measured per charge point per month, reported before the 6th working day of the next month, with a calibrated meter (určené meradlo); whether a MID meter in the charger counts is open.
- What it is worth
- One credit is 1 kWh, at a free price. Our own calculation: 40 to 120 euros a year for a home charger with 2,000 kWh, 2,000 to 6,000 euros for a business site with 100,000 kWh (the prices are not confirmed).
Other rules for charging
- Employer reimbursement of home charging
- Only proven expenses are tax-free; in practice a wallbox report (not confirmed).
What Plugchoice does here
Plugchoice records the kWh of every session per charge point and exports it, so the operator can add up the monthly figure; whoever holds the account can read the sessions through the API, with the owner's consent.
