Charger control for EMS and VPP platforms.
Wireless access to every charger through one API, without disturbing the back office it already has.
What you get
Live charging data
Real-time data from the biggest consumers in the house: power, current per phase and energy per connector, normalised across brands. Added up by area for every charger you steer, or for one home. The numbers are an example.
State of charge
When the charger reports the battery level of the car, you get it with the other readings. Most AC wallboxes do not report it.
Your meter, or ours
We integrate the P1 dongle or meter you already have. If you have neither, use the data from all our meters yourself. See the meters on the integration list
Works with every OCPP 1.6J back office
A seat next to the back office
The charger connects to Plugchoice once, and its back office keeps billing. Through the OCPP proxy you take the Data and control seat: you receive every message as it happens and send commands, without taking anything from the back office.
How your customers connect
Your customer adds their charger from your platform
They use a link in your portal or on your website. We set up their account and address in Plugchoice straight from your platform.
Auto Connect sets up the charger
Your customer downloads our app and uses Auto Connect, which we support for the most popular chargers. We fetch the connected back offices, whitelist the charge cards and fetch the past sessions straight away.

Your customer links your product
It happens on the energy management page in our app, through OAuth 2.0: your customer agrees to share the data and you are connected.
Own app?
Your customer taps Add charger in your app
Your platform already knows who they are and where the charger is.
Our SDK opens Auto Connect in your app
It fetches the connected back offices, whitelists the charge cards and fetches the past sessions, under your name.
No app of your own yet?
Reach customers
Start with chargers that are already installed. Every owner who allows you becomes your customer, with their past sessions, and nobody has to visit the site.
Plugchoice for energy platforms
Plugchoice works with OCPP 1.6J chargers. What a charger accepts depends on its model and firmware. See the energy management systems on the integration list
Questions from EMS and VPP platforms
It depends on volume and is agreed per platform. Ask us and you get a proposal. Load balancing as a fuse guard needs Smart Charging on the charger.
OCPP 1.6J chargers on Plugchoice whose owner allowed you. What a charger accepts, such as a charging profile or a current limit, depends on its model and firmware.
No. We switch our own smart charging off for the chargers you steer. If you want, our load balancing stays on as a guard for the main fuse, with your limit as the ceiling.
Either. Through the REST API you read and steer every brand in one format. Through the OCPP proxy you take the Data and control seat and speak OCPP to the charger yourself, next to its back office.
It works with Alfen, Easee, Peblar, Ratio, SolarEdge, Volt Time and Zaptec, depending on the model. Other OCPP chargers connect to Plugchoice through their OCPP address, set by the owner or their installer.
When the charger reports it. Most AC wallboxes do not.
Yes. We integrate the P1 dongle or meter you already use. Without one, you can use the data from all our meters yourself.
Coming soon. Until then you read the API, or take the Data and control seat and receive every message as it happens.
