Questions about switching from Optimile
Yes. The charger connects to Plugchoice, and Plugchoice passes every message on to Optimile. Optimile keeps billing your sessions, and you switch it off only when you are ready.
DKV Mobility. It bought Optimile in full from BNP Paribas Fortis and AG Insurance, effective 30 April 2026. Optimile is based in Ghent and was founded in 2016.
Optimile publishes no pricing and directs you to a demo. The Plugchoice platform is €0 for every charger, location and user. Smart Charging is €25 a year per AC socket, and a DC socket counts four times.
Not yet. Billing and roaming are planned for the fourth quarter of 2026, in the countries our payment partner covers. Until then, keep Optimile connected for billing.
Point each charger's OCPP address at ws://ocpp.plugchoice.com and add it in Plugchoice. Then add Optimile as its back office, and the charger reports to both. A charger whose maker locks the address cannot move.
