Plugchoice vs Driivz: common questions
Is Plugchoice a real alternative to Driivz?
For charge point management, yes. Plugchoice runs, configures, smartens and bills any OCPP charger, free per charger and self-serve. Driivz is a heavyweight enterprise platform aimed at large networks and utilities, and it goes further than we do on grid services.
Does Driivz have a free plan?
No. Their pricing page returns a 404, no tier or figure is published anywhere, and there is no self-serve signup, free tier or trial. The Plugchoice platform is free, on unlimited chargers.
How much does Driivz cost?
Driivz publishes no pricing. Plugchoice publishes every price, and the platform itself is EUR 0 per charger.
Who owns Driivz?
Vontier Corporation, which acquired Driivz in February 2022. Their own announcement says the company continues to be led by its founder and is run as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary.
Which OCPP versions does Driivz support?
Their interoperability page names OCPP 1.6, 2.0.1 and 2.1, and they state they were certified by the Open Charge Alliance for 1.6 and 2.0.1. Plugchoice runs OCPP 1.6 and newer on any brand, and adds a proxy so one charger can reach two backends at once.
Can I switch from Driivz to Plugchoice?
Yes. The OCPP proxy lets Plugchoice run alongside Driivz, so you reroute chargers when you are ready. Any brand, no lock-in, no reinstall.
Is Plugchoice as capable as Driivz?
Not on grid services, and the page says so plainly: Driivz does demand charge mitigation, V2G, energy market bidding and OpenADR demand response. Plugchoice covers the core management, smart charging and billing jobs on any OCPP charger, free, with public pricing and an OCPP proxy that Driivz does not offer.
