  1. Gelderland pays drivers to shift a charging session, and the app does the steering

A pilot launched in Gelderland in July 2026 pays EV drivers a financial reward, averaging 10 percent of their charging cost, for letting a public charging session shift to a quieter moment on the grid. The trial covers around 12,000 public charge points across the province and runs until January 2027. Six organisations built it: grid operator Liander supplies the capacity signal, Deftpower supplies the flexibility technology, Vattenfall and Allego operate the charge points, and ANWB and Athlon handle the driver-facing app and reward.

  2. Allego migrates its 35,000-point European network to the AMPECO platform

Allego, the Netherlands-based public charging operator, is migrating its European network to a new charge point management platform. Following a formal tender, it picked AMPECO, a Sofia-based CSMS vendor, to run more than 35,000 charge points across 16 countries, roughly 1.3 million charging sessions a month, 200,000-plus registered drivers and 60-plus roaming connections. Allego expects the migration to complete in Q4 2026.
