Paua and Zaptec announced a partnership on September 7, 2026 that connects Zaptec's charger hardware to Paua's fleet charging payment platform in the UK. Zaptec chargers share charging session data with Paua using their built-in energy meters, letting businesses calculate charging costs against an employee's own electricity tariff and reimburse home charging through what both companies describe as an HMRC-compliant process.
Two Zaptec models are named: the Go 2, built for home charging by company car and van drivers and Vehicle-to-Grid ready, and the Pro, aimed at workplaces, depots and commercial sites with dynamic load balancing across multiple chargers. "Fleet electrification should be an operational advantage, not an administrative burden," said Niall Riddell, Paua's CEO and co-founder. Albert Parnell, Zaptec's head of partnerships, said fleet managers need charging solutions as flexible as how their drivers operate.
Neither company's announcement names the protocol carrying the session data between charger and platform. It is the third bilateral fleet-charging integration announced in as many weeks: Andersen EV with Rightcharge in late August, Zaptec with Kraken for energy-supplier tariffs days earlier, now Zaptec with Paua for reimbursement. Plugchoice forwards each MID-metered session it manages to whichever billing party a site chooses, one standard shape regardless of charger brand, so a fleet is not locked into pairing brand-specific hardware with brand-specific reimbursement software.
