Audi and Octopus Energy have announced vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging in Germany, reported on September 10, 2026. Eligible cars are the A2 e-tron and the Q4 SUV and Q4 Sportback e-tron, running vehicle software 6.3 or higher, a version most Q4 e-trons built before late 2022 do not yet have. A bidirectional DC wallbox is required; neither Audi nor Octopus names its maker. Trade outlet electrive.net reports the tariff at 18 cents per kWh below the regular rate, plus a EUR 30 monthly bonus for staying connected at least 300 hours, worth up to EUR 360 a year, and quotes Octopus as saying the start date will be announced later rather than the offer being live today.
It is the second car-brand-plus-supplier V2G pairing to surface in Germany this year: Octopus's own PowerDrive page still lists only the Ford Capri and Explorer, bundled exclusively with an Ambibox wallbox, as its live offer. Every such deal ties one car brand to one energy supplier and one wallbox, announced separately for each new pairing. Plugchoice's position stays the same regardless of brand: the charger speaks OCPP, and a platform that talks to any compliant charger does not need a new bundle for every car on the market.
