CUBOS buys TotalEnergies' German commercial charging business, about 6,000 points

CUBOS, a Wolfsburg-based charge point operator and energy-services software company, has acquired TotalEnergies' German business-to-business EV charging operation, about 6,000 AC and DC points. The deal takes CUBOS past 15,000 charge points and more than 1,000 business customers, into a top-three German operator position, and it is the company's third acquisition in six months after SWARCO's e-mobility unit (December 2025) and ChargeOne (April 2026).

This is the commercial-charging market consolidating: fewer, larger operators absorbing networks. It sits on business-site AC terrain, though CUBOS is a network operator rather than a charger-management platform. For anyone running a mixed fleet, the recurring lesson holds: hardware outlives the company that sold or operated it, so keeping OCPP access to your chargers is what keeps them manageable through changes of ownership.
