The platform is free for everyone. Beyond that, Smart Charging, Billing & Invoicing and the Partner Program are fully independent. Each is its own thing with its own price, and none of them includes another. This table shows which one every feature belongs to.
Common questions
Is Plugchoice really free?
Yes. The full platform costs nothing: charger management, the Web Portal, the mobile app, OCPP Proxy, the REST API and every core feature. No trial period, no feature gates, no credit card.
What are the paid modules?
Smart Charging is available today. Billing & Invoicing arrives in Q3 2026. Each one is an optional module you add to individual chargers. The platform stays free whether you use a module or not.
Who pays for a module?
Whoever owns the charger. That can be a driver at home, an employer offering workplace charging, or a charge point operator. Modules are priced per charger, never per account.
What does Smart Charging cost?
€25 per year, €74 per five years, or €165 once for the lifetime of the charger. Prices are per EVSE (AC) and exclude VAT. DC chargers count double.
How is the Partner Program different?
It is a separate, optional program for businesses that install or operate chargers for other people. It costs €29 per month per company, a flat fee with no per-charger cost, and you earn a share of every module your customers buy.
Which chargers are supported?
Any charger that speaks OCPP. Plugchoice normalizes every brand into one system, so the experience is the same regardless of manufacturer.
