Installers can now select Plugchoice as an operator directly in the Peblar web interface. The option is available from today in firmware version 1.9.0 + C1.15 and is supported across all Peblar chargers.
For installers, this removes one of the small but annoying steps in charger setup. Instead of manually entering operator details or working around backend settings, Plugchoice can now be picked straight from the Peblar interface. That makes commissioning faster, cleaner and less error-prone. The integration is fully tested and supported, including smart charging.
A simpler route to smarter Peblar installations
Peblar builds rock-solid OCPP chargers, engineered and made by Prodrive Technologies in the Netherlands. Every Peblar speaks OCPP 1.6J, so it connects to Plugchoice the same way any charger does, with no special driver. You can read the full setup on the Plugchoice Peblar integration page.
That matters because Plugchoice is not just another operator option. It is a platform layer that helps installers configure, monitor, support and improve OCPP chargers after installation. With Plugchoice, installers can pre-configure locations, set power limits, commission chargers through the app, troubleshoot remotely and lean on real-time diagnostics and OCPP logs when something does not behave as expected. In practice, that can mean fewer unnecessary site visits and a clearer support process when a customer calls.
Operator freedom, without losing control
One of the bigger practical advantages is the OCPP Proxy. Installers do not have to choose between Plugchoice and another backoffice. Plugchoice can run alongside an existing billing or management platform, so customers keep their operator while the installer still gets access to Plugchoice's app, web portal, diagnostics, smart charging and integrations.
That also keeps the setup flexible over time. Operators can be added or removed without having to reconfigure the charger again. For installers and CPOs managing many sites, that difference becomes very real. It is the same open, OCPP-first thinking that lets a Peblar sit in one fleet next to every other brand you run, much like Easee and the evcc app already do.
Smart charging that fits real installations
Plugchoice also adds Power Management features for more energy-heavy locations. That includes dynamic load balancing, solar balancing, peak shaving and power sharing across charger groups. These features can work wirelessly through P1/HAN, CT clamps or Modbus meters, so installers do not need control wiring between the meter, inverter and charger.
For customers with dynamic or fixed energy contracts, Tariff Management can help chargers run when energy is cheaper. Users can set dynamic price thresholds or scheduled charging windows, while the same settings stay visible in both the app and the web portal. That makes support easier too, because the installer and the customer are looking at the same setup. On the Peblar Business model, Plugchoice can also read the integrated MID and Eichrecht certified meter, so transactions carry billing-grade kWh for reimbursement and reporting.
No lock-in, no per-charger platform fee
The core Plugchoice platform is free to use. That includes charger management, the web portal, the mobile app, OCPP Proxy, basic REST API access, remote configuration, transaction history and OCPP logging. Smart Charging is the main paid add-on.
For installers, the commercial story is straightforward: install the charger, connect it to Plugchoice, keep the setup flexible and add paid modules only where they make sense. Through the Plugchoice Partner Program, installers can also earn a revenue share on paid modules such as Smart Charging, Billing & Invoicing, ERE and VPP.
