Definitions

En vigor desde el 30 de noviembre de 2026 | Actualizado el 30 de octubre de 2026

Version 2026-2, published 2026-10-30. It applies to accounts created from 2026-10-30, to existing accounts from 2026-11-30 and, from 2026-10-30, to the Data Processing Agreement.

These Definitions form part of every document that names them with their version, such as our terms and signed agreements. A new version applies to such a document only under that document's own amendment clause. We keep every earlier version available.

Defined terms

Account Holder: the Customer whose Team the Platform shows as owner of the Charger's location or, for a Charger at no location, whose Team holds it. A Customer with only a role in that Team, an Operator Connection or Partner access is not its Account Holder. Where the Platform shows no owner or more than one, it is the Customer we reasonably treat as such, such as the one whose Team registered the Charger.

Active Module: a Module activated for a Charger or account, whose period has not lapsed and for which any fee due is paid.

Agreement: the agreement between the Customer and us of which the document using this term forms part, with the documents that document lists.

API: our REST API, including the SDK API.

Business Customer: a Customer that is not a Consumer.

Charge Card: a card, tag, token or app credential that can start a Charging Session and identify its holder.

Charger: a charging station for electric vehicles, whether or not connected to the Platform.

Charger Owner: whoever owns a Charger, or leases or rents it from its owner. Where more than one person qualifies, we may act on the one we reasonably treat as such.

Charging Session: charging an electric vehicle at an EVSE, from connection to disconnection.

Connector: a socket or attached cable of an EVSE.

Connectivity: the way a Device reaches the Platform, such as a Plugchoice SIM, wifi, ethernet, the internet or a network, gateway or cloud of a third party.

Consumer: a natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession.

Country Schedule: a Schedule to the General Terms with additions for one country, which prevails for that country.

Customer ("you"): the party that contracts with us under the Agreement: for the Platform, the party that uses it; for a sale, the buyer.

Customer Data: Platform Data that the Customer or its users entered, or that relates to its own Chargers, locations, sessions and users.

Delivery Date: for a Charger we delivered to our direct customer, the date on our delivery note or, without one, our invoice; for a Plugchoice SIM we provide otherwise, the date we provide it.

Derived Data: data we create from Platform Data by combining it with other data or by analysis or modelling, including aggregated, anonymized, statistical and modelled data and our databases. Data the Platform generates for a Customer from its own use, such as its sessions, invoices, reports, schedules, settings and the forecasts and profiles shown to it for its own Chargers and locations, is Customer Data; the methods and models behind them are not.

Device: a Charger, Meter Device or other equipment that connects to the Platform, is managed through it or exchanges data with it, such as a meter dongle, battery, inverter, heat pump or vehicle, whoever makes it.

Developer: whoever accesses the API other than through our own Web Portal and apps.

Driver: a person who charges an electric vehicle at a Charger.

End User: whoever uses a Charger itself and does not resell or install it, as our Customer or as a customer of another Customer, such as an installer.

Energy Credit Scheme (or "Scheme"): any scheme in any country, set up by law, an authority or a private party, under which a benefit, such as a certificate, credit, quota, refund or subsidy, is issued, claimed, traded or paid on the basis of a Charger, the energy it supplies, energy used, generated or saved at its location, or data about any of these.

EVSE: an independently operable charging outlet of a Charger for one vehicle at a time, as in OCPP.

Firmware: software that a Charger's manufacturer embeds in it.

In Writing (also "written"): by letter or email; a change to a signed agreement also needs the signatures that agreement requires.

Integration: a connection between the Platform and a Device, a Third-Party Service or a system of the Customer, such as with a vehicle, energy supplier, meter, flexibility market or Scheme, whoever built it.

Link: our hosted flow for adding, setting up or reconnecting a Charger, or adding a meter, from an app or website; the SDK is our software for opening it.

Meter Data Source: a meter or Meter Device that gives the Platform readings of a location's grid connection or of other consumption or production there, directly or via its Meter Vendor.

Meter Vendor: a third party that supplies a meter, meter dongle or other metering device (a Meter Device), or the service, app or API through which its readings reach the Platform.

Module: an optional, separately activated capability of the Platform described in a Schedule to the General Terms.

OCPP Proxy: the part of the Platform that receives a Charger's OCPP communication and, where configured, forwards it to and from other backends; an OCPP Endpoint is an address at which Chargers reach it, including one in another party's name.

Operator Connection: a connection set up in the Platform through which a Third-Party Service receives a Charger's OCPP traffic or sends it commands.

Order Confirmation: our written confirmation of an order.

Order Portal: our ordering portal for Volt Time products.

Partner: a Business Customer admitted to the Partner Program or with a signed Partner Agreement.

Partner Program: our programme for Partners under Schedule C of the General Terms.

Platform: the Plugchoice software platform as we make it available from time to time, including the Web Portal, apps, API, OCPP Proxy and Link.

Platform Data: all data that passes through, is generated by or is stored in the Platform, whichever domain, endpoint, portal, app or branding it passes through, including OCPP communication and logs.

Plugchoice SIM: a SIM card we provide, directly or through our connectivity provider, to connect a Charger to the Platform over a mobile network, also in a Charger we sell.

Product Sheet: the datasheet of a product that we give with our quotation or Order Confirmation, in that version; a web page or brochure is not one.

Scheme Party: anyone other than us, the Customer and the authority or register that runs a Scheme, that takes part in a Scheme or uses Platform Data for one, such as a claiming service, aggregator, verifier or buyer.

Service: anything we provide under the Agreement, now or later, such as the Platform, Modules, apps, API, SDK, Link, Integrations, the connection to the Platform over a Plugchoice SIM, programmes and support, in any country where we offer it.

SIM Budget: the budget for a Plugchoice SIM under Schedule F of the General Terms.

Team: a group in the Platform that gives access to Chargers and locations (API: organization).

Third-Party Service: any service, system or network we do not operate, including charge point operators, e-mobility service providers, Scheme Parties, energy suppliers, roaming platforms, payment and connectivity providers, app stores, manufacturer systems and Meter Vendors.

Urgent Reason: security, the law, a competent authority, fraud or abuse requiring faster action, within the limits of General Terms clause 18.6.

We, us, our: Volt Time B.V. (KvK 77488873), also trading as Plugchoice.

Web Portal: our web interface to the Platform, including a whitelabel version.

Working Day: Monday to Friday, except public holidays in the Netherlands.
