Iberdrola bp pulse, the Spanish charging joint venture, has selected the charging-management software company Driivz (part of Vontier) to run roughly 2,500 fast and ultra-fast public chargers across Spain and Portugal, with vehicle-to-grid and dynamic energy management named as future capabilities.
It is a large, multi-vendor network win on the public high-power side, which is adjacent to the private and business AC charging Plugchoice focuses on. What it shows is where the software competition sits: a large operator picking one management platform to run a mixed-hardware fleet. That "one platform, any charger" idea is the same reason OCPP matters, it lets a management layer sit above hardware from many brands.
